Traumatic Brain Injury & Severe Chronic Pain

On February 17, 2017 Michael Flomenhaft delivered a lecture on “Neuroscience and Justice” sponsored by Harper College pre-Law and Integrated Neuroscience departments at SUNY at Binghamton. This lecture explored divergences between medicine and neuroscience in addressing issues confronting judges and juries. Conflicting understandings between these disciplines have emerged strongly on the issues of traumatic brain injury and the ramifications of chronic pain on the civil side, and with respect to intention and responsibility in criminal prosecutions.
