On January 1, 2019, Michael Flomenhaft discussed traumatic brain injury (“TBI”) on Reverend Terry Lee’s Real Life Times News radio show. The program caters to issues facing Brooklyn’s Caribbean community. His remarks included discussion of car accidents as a leading cause of TBl, explaining that in such accidents, whiplash rather than direct head impact is a typical mechanism of brain trauma. He also discussed how despite normal speech and preservation of intelligence, a serious brain injury can be present.
