The Program for Imaging and Cognitive Sciences (PICS), www.fmri.org, Columbia University Medical Center appoints Michael Flomenhaft as its Director of Neurolaw. As stated by the Director of PICS, Joy Hirsch, Ph.D. “The Program for Imaging and Cognitive Sciences, PICS, at Columbia University Medical Center, is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Flomenhaft, Esq. as Director of Neurolaw.” This new position has been created within PICS in recognition of the emerging importance of the interface between advances in cognitive neuroscience and neuroimaging and the practice of law. PICS believes this appointment is the first of its kind in the United States, and is intended to facilitate the establishment of both new theory and practice to inform legal process based on developments in functional neuroimaging.
