Julia Sands earned her J.D. in 2012 and is admitted to practice law in the State of New York. Her professional law experience includes trial practice, alternative dispute resolution, and personal injury representation of both defense and plaintiff clients in motor vehicle, premises liability and labor law cases. Ms. Sands is a passionate advocate for her clients’ rights and is a member of multiple professional associations including the New York City Bar Association and the New York County Lawyers Association. She is a published author, alongside professor and frequent expert witness, Daniel Pollack, of several articles in the New York Law Journal including “Cross-Gender Supervision of Children in Residential Group Homes” (September 26, 2017) and “Defining Chronic Substance Abuse in the Context of Terminating Parental Rights” (August 3, 2020).

As a graduate of the City University of New York School of Law, Ms. Sands earned a position in Law Review as well as in a specialized mediation clinic. She was a co-founding president of the Jewish Law Student Association, a Bar Review Representative and a Health Law Research Assistant. Prior to law school, she graduated with honors from the University of Delaware where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services, Education & Public Policy with a Concentration in Clinical Services. While at the University, she interned at the Delaware Center for Justice where she conducted court-ordered mediations for juvenile first-time offenders, was a member of the Kappa Omicron Nu Honor society and was the President of the Delaware Repertory Dance Company, where she had the opportunity to be a dancer, choreographer and board member.
