Michael Flomenhaft presented at Fordham Law School CLE

On October 17, 2018, Michael Flomenhaft participated in “The Diagnosis, Treatment, and Prevention of Concussion,” CLE sponsored by Fordham Law School. He spoke on a panel entitled The Hidden Harm of Traumatic Brain Injuries.

Mr. Flomenhaft discussed the often contrasting neurological versus neuroscience views on concussion. In particular, he showed that while neurology and conventional neuroimaging is rooted in a cortical/grey matter perspective, the differing network/ white matter perspective of neuroscience can be much more informative as concussion is predominantly a network/white matter phenomenon. In that regard, he discussed the different expressions of cultural and judicial resistance to evidentiary admissibility of this neuroscience explanation.
